Hyades V is a rocky exoplanet in the Helian star system currently governed by the Arnell Corporation, and since it’s initial discovery 149 years ago there has not been a single recorded day without rain. After a colony drop 19 years ago it has been continuously inhabited by humans. These people live their lives in a constant downpour, black clouds blot out the sun. Floodlights bathe the streets in a yellow glow.
In that vast blackened land lies the ruins of a hunting ground, established by something long before humanity. Hayades V was created to be a hunting ground for a xeno empire that collapsed sometime in the late 1600s, this uniquely engineered ecosystem bursts back to life every 23 years.
